Why did you choose to major in accounting?
I wanted to know the “language of business”. Gaining an understanding of how a business operates through the lens of an accountant allows you to make immediate impact to any organization no matter if its C-Corp or a Non-For-Profit. Accounting has allowed me to add incredible value to organizations I am passionate about and friends and family who need guidance.
Was there a course/project/group/interaction, etc. at Kelley that has been particularly helpful to you in your career?
Needless to say any Professor Terry Campbell course left an impression on my career and how I carried myself in the profession. Professor Campbell consistently featured professionals from industry and public accounting to showcase varying perspectives.
What was your favorite part of being an accounting student at Kelley?
My favorite part of being a Kelley student was being confident that the subject matter being taught was well crafted and thought out by folks in the profession who have years of experience.
Drawing on your career experiences, what advice would you give to future Kelley Accounting students?
Embrace the challenges and be comfortable being uncomfortable.
What was your favorite accounting class at Kelley?
BUS-A582 International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
