Tamera Anthony is an undergraduate student majoring in accounting at the Kelley School of Business.
What is your favorite part of being an accounting student at Kelley?
My favorite part about being an accounting student at Kelley is that the professors really care about the students, and they have real world experience that they are more than happy to share.
Why did you choose to major in accounting?
Great accounting is the backbone of every great long-lasting business.
Drawing on your experiences, what advice would you give to future Kelley Accounting students?
Live without imposter syndrome! You are where you are because you earned it and you deserve it. Though many people get where they are in different ways, it does not mean you do not deserve to be there or to be the best!
What are your plans for the future?
My plan for the future is to be unconditionally happy. I want to make this world better than it was when I came into it! I want to educate my community to be financially independent and to live without financial struggles. I will create a business that will educate minority business owners on how to be financially healthy in order to be financially wealthy. I will create a movement that outlives me and start my family’s generational wealth.
Please tell us about your favorite activities at Kelley and IU.
My favorite activity at IU is attending the free movies at the IMU with my friends on chill weekends. My favorite activity at Kelley is the Mental Health Week, when they bring in the emotional support dogs to help us through Finals week.
What has been your favorite accounting class at Kelley?
My favorite accounting class at Kelley, so far, has been Managerial Accounting with Professor Tanya Carson.
